Be inspired on International Women's day
On Saturday 22nd March 2014 BelEve UK hosted a Tea Party for Mums and Daughters as part of the Bellingham Well London programme. This event was in celebration of International Women’s day and Mother’s day.
This inspirational afternoon was hosted by Jenni Steele; a local Bellingham resident and housed over 100 guests in the transformed Bellingham Gateway Youth Centre. Mums and Daughters were given the opportunity to spend quality time over tea and delicious cakes, made by Ex young Mayor Jacob Sakil, who works closely with BelEve UK.
The afternoon consisted of several different activities including a crazy photo booth moment, Bingo, a fantastic drama performance delivered by the young girls of the BelEve UK’s BEAM (Beautiful Empowered and ME) programme. The girls worked for 7 weeks to compose a drama piece based around issues that continuously affect young girls in society in the local area. The guests also made Jewellery and took part in a lively Salsa class. Some lucky guests received the opportunity to have a mini massage, which went down well with the lucky 5 Mums and the girls got their nails painted.
All the Girls who have attended the BEAM Programme for the last year also received a certificate and a T-shirt to acknowledge their commitment and achievements. The afternoon was a great success, the guest’s enjoyed the variety of activities and gave great feedback.
